Through the generosity of donors to the Halifax Educational Foundation, we are able to offer several awards for financial assistance each year to students attending classes through an SVHEC partner college or university. There is one application used to apply for one of the financial assistance awards. The available awards are:

• The HEF Scholarship
• The Hope Scholarship: The Hope Scholarship honors Buford T. and Alvelta Hope Arthur Lumsden. It was the HEF's first endowed scholarship.
  
• The Tri-County Community Action Scholarship
• Penick Scholarship
• Old Dominion Electric Cooperative Scholarship

Applications are accepted between April 1-July 31st each year. To apply, complete the application and submit it to the Halifax Educational Foundation by July 31st.
