American National Bank Presents DonationRonnie Moore, Senior Vice President & Regional Executive Officer at American National Bank & Trust Company, recently presented a donation to the Southern Virginia Higher Education Center. Executive Director Dr. Betty H. Adams (pictured left) and Simulation Lab Specialist Cindy Cole accepted the donation on behalf of the SVHEC.

“We are pleased to accept American National Bank’s annual donation and are most grateful for their longstanding support,” Dr. Adams stated. “Without advocates like American National, the SVHEC could not operate at its full potential. This year’s donation will be directed to sustaining the operations of one of the SVHEC’s first and most successful signature programs, the Center of Nursing Excellence (CNE).”

“American National recognizes the essential role the SVHEC serves for Halifax County and its surrounding areas, and we are excited that these funds will be used to enhance the Center of Nursing Excellence,” said Moore.

The SVHEC Center of Nursing Excellence serves as a regional resource for healthcare education, training, and simulation. Since its inception in 2008 the CNE has served over 1,000 nursing students and healthcare professionals. In the past year alone the CNE has served 325 new users. CNE staff members continue to expand available training by working with regional employers to develop and deliver customized training.

The SVHEC extends its thanks and appreciation to American National Bank & Trust Company for its consistent support. In addition to the most recent donation, American National Bank was a Platinum Sponsor for the SVHEC’s 2012 Workforce Forward Forum.
