SVHEC is partnering with the South Boston Police Department for the Santa Cops Toy Drive. Help us "Stuff the Cruiser" and brighten the holidays for local families by bringing new, unwrapped toys or clothing to the SVHEC through Dec. 13th.

SVHEC ends a year of achievement with notice by two multinational companies: Microsoft and Envisio.
Microsoft featured SVHEC’s IT Academy (ITA), ITA Director Kelly Shotwell and ITA completer Darryl Kent in a video highlighting rural innovation. Envisio, a platform for strategic planning, execution, and data sharing, selected SVHEC for a case study and client success story.

Record numbers of parents, students, community members and business leaders attended the 2nd annual Career & Technical Education (CTE) Showcase on Thursday, October 17th. "This is what CTE looks like," said said Halifax County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Amy Huskin as students and instructors gathered on stage.

Career Tech Academy-IT students competed in Danville Community College's CyberKnights Showdown. The annual competition focuses on cybersecurity and provides students with a rotation of challenges to work through. The CTA-IT "Hacker & Quill" team of Alaina Cash and Sam Ricardo placed 3rd.
