Where: SVHEC Campus

Career & Technical Education, or CTE, provides a variety of opportunities for our young people to secure their future with well-paying, in-demand jobs. Unfortunately, many are unaware of these opportunities and the free training available to provide them with lifelong skills. In 2023, this community issued a Call to Action and more than 300 people registered for this inaugural event. That was a fantastic start but we’re not done yet.

We’re on a mission to spread the word that CTE is for everyone! The belief that vocational training is old, dirty, and only for a select few is outdated. Today’s career & technical education aligns with and supports traditional academic subjects, provides opportunities for growth in high school and beyond, and provides a pathway to hundreds of rewarding career paths. The data is clear that CTE works. Students who focus on CTE courses in high school have higher median annual earnings than their non-CTE peers, and a CTE associate’s degree can pay as much as $10,000 more per year than associate degrees in other fields. CTE degrees can even pay more than a bachelor’s degree and can be earned at a fraction of the cost of a four-year degree.

In today’s world filled with rapidly changing technology, the rise of AI (artificial intelligence), and globally competitive markets, every community is looking for a competitive advantage. CTE is ours. When our community is filled with citizens of all ages who have gained in-demand skills through hands-on training we will be unstoppable.

Join the CTE movement and learn more at the 2024 CTE Showcase! Registration Opening Soon.
