On May 14th, the Healthcare Training Hub (HTH) at SVHEC celebrated the accomplishments of eight students who successfully completed the Clinical Medical Assistant (CMA) program.

During this rigorous 240-hour program, students learn how to perform clinical tasks like measuring vital signs, drawing blood, administering medicine, and assisting with minor surgical procedures. They also gain a strong foundation in administrative tasks like managing patient records, scheduling appointments, and billing. Upon completion, CMA students are eligible to sit for the national CMA certification exam and equipped with the diverse skillset needed for employment in medical offices, clinics, and urgent care centers.

The CMA program is offered the SVHEC Healthcare Training Hub in partnership with Danville Community College and taught by Teresa Slabach, Healthcare Training Hub Lead Instructor.
