An expanded partnership between SVHEC and Southside Virginia Community College is providing increased access to affordable, hands-on training in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC).
Through the agreement, HVAC@SVHEC will be offered in partnership with SVCC, giving students the opportunity to enroll in the program as either credit or non-credit students. For credit students have access to federal financial aid, increasing the opportunities students have to enroll in training and earn in-demand skills.
The partnership builds on the successful model already in place for Welding@SVHEC, which allows students to complete hands-on technical training at SVHEC while earning college credit through SVCC.
HVAC@SVHEC prepares students for in-demand positions in the growing HVAC industry. The program is a Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulations (DPOR) approved educational provider. Individuals who complete the HVAC@SVHEC training program may count their training hours towards the HVAC journeyman’s licensing requirement.
HVAC@SVHEC is now enrolling for Fall 2026. To learn more call 434-572-5453 or 434-572-5568.
