





Applause, cheers, and proud smiles filled the room as the Southern Virginia Higher Education Center (SVHEC) and Danville Community College (DCC) held a completion ceremony recognizing fall 2025 Clinical Medical Assistant program completers.
During the December 10th ceremony, Mi’Andrae Brooks, Sherrhonda Ensley, Brittany Faison, Khamiya Jackson, K’mayia Moore, Shadara Scarbrough, and Santia Powell were for successfully completing the 240-hour, hands-on CMA training program.
“Today we honor our Clinical Medical Assistant program completers—students who have shown discipline, resilience, and commitment to serving others. This program, which is offered in partnership with Danville Community College, is a shining example of what is possible when institutions come together with a shared purpose: to strengthen our workforce, uplift our communities, and support individuals in building brighter futures,” said Dr. Charlette Woolridge, SVHEC Executive Director.
Jessica Dalton, DCC Vice-President of Workforce Services extended congratulations to the program completers stating, “You can be proud of the profession into which you now graduate. The healthcare profession accounts for half of our global workforce and is deeply admired and respected for the hard work and dedication it requires. Today, we celebrate your achievement with you, and we value the sacrifice you and your families have made to complete this program.
The Clinical Medical Assistant program is offered at SVHEC in partnership with Danville Community College. The program provides students with training in essential clinical and administrative skills, such as patient check-in and check-out procedures, vital signs monitoring, phlebotomy and EKG procedures, electronic health record documentation, and direct support for healthcare professionals. Clinical Medical Assistant’s serve a vital role within healthcare, and work in a variety of settings including medical offices, clinics, and urgent care facilities.
