Welding Courses

Welding Level 1 & 2 is your starting point for a welding career. This 8-month training teaches students the proper and safe use of thermal cutting equipment including OxyFuel Cutting, Plasma Cutting, Arc Cutting and Gouging. Students learn Stick welding (SMAW), MIG, Fluxcore, and TIG welding processes including proper equipment setup and techniques for welding pads, fillet welds, and open root plate.

Introduction to Thermal Cutting and SMAW Welding (Level 1) teaches students the proper and safe use of thermal cutting equipment including OxyFuel Cutting, Plasma Cutting, Arc Cutting and Gouging. Students learn Stick welding (SMAW), and are shown proper equipment setup and welding techniques for welding pads, fillet welds, and open root plate using various SMAW electrodes.

Introduction to GMAW, FCAW, and GTAW Welding (Level 2) provides instruction on MIG, Fluxcore, and TIG welding processes including proper equipment setup and techniques for welding pads, fillet welds, and open root plate. The course also covers the fundamentals of reading welding symbols and blueprints.

Advanced & Speciality Welding

Introduction to Pipe Welding covers the proper techniques to make pipe welds in the 1G, 2G, 5G and 6G positions. Stick, MIG, Fluxcore, and TIG welding processes are used. To enroll in Intro to Pipe Welding, a student must have successfully completed Welding Level 1 or 2 OR have current welding experience and demonstrate the ability to pass an open root weld test.

Introduction to Aluminum Welding introduces students to aluminum welding for plate and pipe. Students are shown equipment setup and techniques for welding aluminum plate and pipe using the MIG and TIG welding processes. Levels 1 and 2 are not required prior to registering.
